This Privacy Policy explains how OuroTaurus LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("OuroTaurus," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the OuroTaurus website or subscribe to the newsletter (the "Service"). We aim to collect as little as possible.

1. Information we collect

  • Email address. When you subscribe to the newsletter, you provide your email address. Subscriptions are handled by our email provider, beehiiv, and use double opt-in confirmation.
  • Usage and device data. We use privacy-respecting analytics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) to understand aggregate traffic and performance. This may include pages visited, referrer, approximate region, and device or browser type, in aggregated form.
  • Cookies and local storage. The site aims to be cookie-light. Where cookies or similar technologies are used, they support core functionality and aggregate analytics rather than cross-site advertising profiles.

2. How we use information

  • To send the newsletter you subscribed to and to operate and maintain the Service.
  • To understand aggregate usage and improve performance, content, and reliability.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to protect the security and integrity of the Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third parties and processors

We share information with service providers that help us operate the Service, only as needed to perform their functions:

  • beehiiv — email newsletter delivery and subscription management.
  • Vercel — website hosting and privacy-respecting analytics.
  • In the future, additional providers may be introduced (for example, Stripe for payments or advertising networks). When that happens, this Policy will be updated to describe them.

4. Email and your choices

Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time through that link or our unsubscribe page. Unsubscribing stops future sends; residual records may persist briefly in provider backups.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our analytics are designed to measure aggregate traffic and performance rather than to track individuals across the web. Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings; disabling them should not affect your ability to read the briefs.

6. Data retention

We retain subscriber email addresses for as long as you remain subscribed and as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes, after which we delete or anonymize them. Aggregate analytics are retained per our providers' standard retention windows.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to opt out of certain uses — including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 8. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, communicated to subscribers.
